Nature photographs are one of the most colorful, beautiful and exciting photographs to take.
Once you get started you won’t want to stop and soon you`ll want to take your nature photography to the next level.
Nature photography is a very broad form of photography and the best thing about it is that it gives you so many options and opportunities. For example you can take photographs of wild flowers, animals, landscapes, mountains etc.
The type of equipment you have is important because the type of equipment used determines the quality which means that you will have to get the best equipment available for nature photography.
However, if you are just getting started at nature photography then you will only need the basic equipment, like a traditional film camera, a tripod and you are ready to get started.
For those who want to take their nature photography seriously you will need more than the basic equipment and the only way to do this is to upgrade your equipment because with better equipment, the more options you have and better results.
To take good nature photographs you will need a good camera preferably a digital camera because not only are they smaller, but they are also packed with loads of features that will give you better pictures.
The next piece of equipment that most photographers ignore is the lens. Lenses come in different forms and sizes and since nature shots are so much varied so would be to your advantage to own the different types of lenses.
When taking nature photographs you will find that you won’t always have the advantage of a close up shot and will therefore need a long range lens. This problem is more common when taking wildlife shots.
The best lens for nature photography would be one that has an extension tube, and one that can give you up 35-350mm zoom.
The tripod is another important piece of equipment for nature photography. My best advise when choosing the best tripod to buy would be the lightest, because remember that when you go for nature photography you will sometimes need to go mountain climbing, hiking etc.
You will need to pack light because you don’t want to have a heavy tripod in your backpack. The best would be a fiber glass or aluminum tripod. The next important thing about the tripod is that it should have a rotatable center shaft because it allows you to spread the tripods legs as far apart as you want so you can go as low or as high as you want.
