The Basic Skills For Dance Photography

dance photographyHere is something to do for those people who are said to have two left feet, ‘Dance Photography’.

Only in this case your inability to come up with moves doesn’t get in the way of your fun.

Dance photography enables the photographer to be a part of what they are photographing and that sums up the first important point in dance photography.

One has to get up close with the dancers in order to catch the best moves, mixing and mingling with the dancers on the dance floor enables the photographer to take a variety of photos from different angles.

Keep a sharp target on your subject and if possible predict possible spectacular moves before they actually do happen so that you are ready when they do happen.

An external flash is a definite necessity but however one needs to watch out for the red-eye effect and this can easily be done by moving the flash away from the lens.

The flashlight gives you an added bonus of longer shooting distance. Some gel on the flash helps to make the background not as blurry [Camera Flash]. The gel is responsible for fixing the light from the normal daylight to that of the light bulbs in the room.

Nothing bits running out of storage space when the fun is just beginning, always have enough storage space to take as many pictures as possible. At the end of the day you can choose your favourite photos.

Shooting in row mode helps you shift the color balance and exposure. When taking the shots make sure that you capture the face of the dancers as this has a great bearing on the effect of the photo.

Do not be afraid to experiment with position and angles, the funkier the better. Although action shots are important, dancers can also be real fun even when they are not on the dance floor.

Creativity is a necessity in this field and thus make the best and be as creative as possible.

The ability to crop your subject is very important as it helps the viewer to understand the moves of the subject. Make sure that the photography background does not interfere with the moves of the subject.

Color adjustment is also necessary as most times the camera does not portray the best colors because of the lighting. Dance photography can be exciting and easy to partake in; one need not have a certificate to become a good photographer. Just knowing the basics can turn you into a good photographer
