Most of today’s digital cameras come with a built-in flash unit. However, a portable one will allow you to take some pretty creative shots. A creative technique in flash photography is known as bounce or bouncing. When you bounce the light it can actually improve the light quality in your images.
Bouncing the flash will enable the light to spread itself out in a wider pattern and travel farther. This method actually creates a bigger source of light, which can create more flattering and softer light for your photos.
The technique of bouncing enables the light to bounce or reflect off of other surfaces. This means the subject is lit from several directions and any shadows can usually be filled in during the process.
