Light Graffiti has come to fame over the last couple of years and there are quite a bit of amazing works to show on the internet demonstrating what can be achieved.

Light graffiti artists create unique tagging in air or sometimes around object in dimensional way and then images are clicked with time-lapse photography. Sometimes this tagging is not even possible with spray paints.

Requirements for capturing light graffiti in your camera:

  • For capturing the light graffiti in your camera; the most important accessory is tripod. If you cannot get a tripod make sure that your camera is in a fixed position.
  • You need to set your camera with faster shutter speed.
  • The exposure time should be around 10-30 seconds and this should vary with the lighting conditions.
  • Keep your aperture dumb, do not highlight the aperture and make sure to keep your aperture closed. This controls the over exposure of the image.

Different light sources give you different colors of graffiti. Glow stick can be used to give variety of color, xenon gives you warm golden lights, cathode tubes give you thick lines and LED gives you thin precise lines.

Here are 25 amazing collection of light graffiti pictures.

Shutter Speed To Capture The Fast Moving Objects!

Thursday 22 May 2008

Have you ever tried to know about your camera shutter speed while clicking the image of a fast moving object? Have you tried clicking a fast moving animal and missed the shot in fraction of seconds? Every apprentice photographer might have experienced this problem while capturing a fast moving object.

shutter speed

The time lapse of clicking the shutter button and capturing the image on the image sensors will be very short. If the time lapse is not short, then you will click a shot and capture another shot.

The time lapse should be very less to capture the exact shot what you have clicked. All this process can be controlled by maintaining shutter speed. The other important aspects in exposure triangle which are supported with shutter speed are aperture and ISO!

What is shutter speed?

Shutter speed in normal terms is explained as “the amount of time the shutter is open”. The image sensors present in the camera captures the pictures. Light supports the image’s sensors to capture the pictures.

Things To Know Before Starting Autumn Photography!

Monday 19 May 2008

Photography in autumn is fun loving task for many photographers. The climate in the autumn is not too cold or not too warm. The autumn photography gives the photographer a wide range of subjects in clicking autumn pictures. The subjects can vary from falling leaves, leaves changing colors and the beautiful and calm sky without bright shining sun. There are some steps to follow in making autumn photography project a success and to yield great pictures of the autumn colors.

The essential steps in clicking autumn images:

Polarized filters: Always use polarized filters to control the saturation of colors in the picture frame. The use of the filters in the frame will yield lovely blue skies by decreasing the haze. The arrangement of the filters minimizes the haze effect in the pictures [Different photographic filters].

Best hours for clicking images: There is no particular lapse of time for shooting images in autumn. The climate in the autumn is preferable for shooting images at any time, but shooting images in the superlative time can yield better photos.

Introduce Yourself To Aperture And Its Importance!

Thursday 15 May 2008

ApertureYou might have observed the aperture priority mode in the camera.

Many photographers know the use of this aperture mode, but do not understand what exactly aperture priority mode is.

When you see the technical specifications in digital camera, the first priority mode is the aperture: maximum aperture or the aperture range.

Aperture is one of the important elements in the exposure triangle. The exposure triangle is very important in yielding good photographs. The other components of the exposure triangle are ISO and shutter speed [Techniques to take sharp digital pictures].

What exactly is aperture?

If explained in simple terms: “aperture is the size of lens diaphragm opening when the image is taken”. If you can master the aperture, you can grasp the real creativity and control over the clarity of the images.

It is the size of the diaphragm opening which regulates the amount of light to pass through the lens to yield an image. When you hit the shutter button in the digital camera, a small hole is opened allowing the image sensors in the camera to catch the glimpse of the scene or the picture you want to capture.

HDR: The Dawn In Innovative Epoch Of Digital Imaging Technology!

Monday 12 May 2008

Image processing is very famous for clearing the blur in the pictures. Image processing combines different sections and different and makes the processing of images easy. Even an abrupt picture can be corrected with certain image processing software to get good output.

High Dynamic Range

Image processing combines computer graphic designing, photography and High Dynamic Range (HDR) and these are a set of techniques which support the viewing of different exposures (the range between light and dark).

HDR images are very different and cannot be compared with any other images. Several photos are taken in high-contrast at different exposures. These photos are mixed to get a natural look while deleting the blow out and shadows.

HDR comes under the cropping or editing technology where you use a photo editing software to create different dynamic ranges in one single photo.

The standard meaning of HDR:

The images we click are in 8-bit format, which shows only 0-225 colors that ranges from black to white. These photos do not show different colors, which are in the original frame and sometimes mix up white and black, forming grey shades in pictures.

What Is The Process Of Taking Photos In Kirlian Photography?

Thursday 8 May 2008

kirlian photographyAs deep as you go into photography, you learn new patterns and techniques.

Photography is always interesting field, as it shows different variations.

There are different types of photography. One such type is Kirlian photography.

A technique combined with photography yields Kirlian photography.

What is Kirlian photography?

This photography refers to a form of photogram (photographic image like shadow) made with high voltage.

It is a high voltage contact photo printing. Kirlian photography was named after semyon davidovich kirlian.

Invention of Kirlian photography: The invention of Kirlian photography was done by mistake. In 1939, during the experiment on electro photography, Kirlian discovered that when an object on photographic plate is connected to a high voltage, small corona discharges are created around the object.

Hence, it yields the image of the object on the photographic plate. This image looks like a colored coronal discharge, but in actual terms these coronations are physical manifestations of the “life forces” around the object.

In real sense, the images are formed due to the natural occurrence such as electrical grounding, pressure, temperature and humidity. Changes in these phenomena can produce different kirlian photos.
